It has been quite some time since I posted something music related here. I apologize. Life got in the way. I’m graduating from Grad School in a couple of weeks so time has been cleared up. I’m excited to pursue creative things again. I was cleaning the desktop off my iMac and stumbled upon this clip that I was originally going to use for a more ambitious video. I decided to just release it as is and will work on another video for this song later on. In the meantime, hope you enjoy it.

Last week, I witnessed for the first time I that I can remember the true power of a real democracy. The SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect Intellectual Property Act) bills were stopped after massive online protests from companies like Wikipedia, Reddit, Google, and Facebook. Millions of people wrote to their senators voicing their opinion. Whether you agree with SOPA/PIPA or not, you must respect that government is made by the people and for the people.

As an artist, I can certainly understand that piracy can be a problem. However, the real issue with SOPA/PIPA is that we had Hollywood lobbyists trying to buy law with their Washington insiders. That did not work because no one owns the Internet. It is really a true democracy.

My friend Shan Shan and I recently did a cover of Adele’s Someone Like You. Shan Shan has a wonderful voice that I think even Adele can be jealous of (just kidding). She’s really good though. The remix is a bit more downtempo but has bit more intricate rhythms. The vocals took 1 day to record. The remix arrangement and video both took the same day. The video was shot while I was in Beijing and Shanghai, China in the Summer of 2010.

ALL DAY – SINGLE
All Day is a song about love and ultimately destiny (in an unromantic sense) influenced by british and dance pop bands like The Killers and New Order. The catchy chorus and anthem lyrics about love, betrayal, and redemption drive home the message that despite our human failings, we come back stronger. The dance beat is reminiscent of The Killer’s Human with the aggressiveness of New Order’s heavy guitar track Crystal.
